Many basketball club teams in Ottawa are forced to travel out of the city and sometimes country, every weekend in order to play in front of college and university coaches to market themselves. This results in many parents and coaches sacrificing financially to support these young athletes.
The Shayok Summer Showcase provides Ottawa players a stage to showcase their skills in hopes of obtaining a collegiate basketball scholarship.
